The joy I get in seeing people released from pain, realize their potential and accomplish more than they ever thought possible is so rewarding. It’s not just about running farther than they thought they could it’s about doing more than they ever could envision themselves doing. I get to work with amazing people who make my job fun and consider myself blessed to work with these people.
The people who inspire me are those who overcome their fears….work hard….and accomplish their goals.
From the time I was a young kid I had a fear of water. I blame it on my older sister who let me watch Jaws after my mom told her not to. As an adult I was so motivated to overcome this fear that I decided to sign up for a triathlon and force myself to learn how to swim. I finished my first race with my swim suit and mountain bike and the start of a healthy addiction to triathlons !
I’ve competed in the following races:
- Ironman 140.6 Madison, Wisconsin 2015
- Ironman 70.3 Austin, Texas 2014

How it all began
My passion started young. I loved sports and had an interest in how the human body worked. I decided in the 4th grade when we were dropping my older sister off at Michigan State University for her freshman year, that this is where I was going to school. Three years later we dropped my brother off and it just fueled the fire. My senior year in high school I had to pick a major when I was applying to MSU I had no idea what options I had that could combine my love of sports and anatomy. Then I ran across Athletic Training. It was everything I was looking for, the perfect balance that combined both of my passions. For 4 years I had the privilege to tape, ice, stretch, massage, rehab, etc. Big Ten athletes, taught by the best Staff Trainers, and study under the most talented Physicians in the country. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Kinesiology and became a Licensed Athletic Trainer. This was just the beginning.
After my first job in a sports medicine clinic and high school, I shifted my focus to fitness and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. I worked as a personal trainer and then Assistant Manager of the Personal Training department at Lifetime Fitness. A few years later I honored the desire to return to my Sports Medicine roots and I attended Massage Therapy school. After massage school I felt it was time to create a company that could offer everything I envisioned for my clients. Perfect Balance, Inc. was born out of my love of fitness and restoring body balance. Here we are today. I am honored to provide Massage Therapy, Personal Training, Functional Movement Screening and Triathlon Coaching.
I share my competitive drive with my husband and my 3 kids. Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, I decided it was time for a change of pace. The suburbs of Chicago became my adopted home.
