Who is mental health coaching for?

  • Are you feeling frazzled or overwhelmed? 
  • Maybe burnt out or stuck?  
  • Is your constant stress causing migraines, TMJ issues and/or poor sleep?
  • Are your relationships suffering?
  • Do you find yourself making poor food or drink choices to provide stress relief ?


Together we will use the principles of mental health coaching, Somatic Experiencing and Somatic Parts Work.  We can move into restful states and mobilize stuck states, shifting into the ability to ebb and flow with life. 


What to expect

  • To no longer get stuck and turn to unhealthy behaviors but to move through the process of regulation.
  • To alleviate the constant tension in your muscles so you can experience fewer migraines and joint pain.
  • To have healthier relationships with people and food.
  • To get better sleep at night and feel more rested during the day.

  • Somatic Experiencing, Somatic Parts work and various coaching techniques for creating change.
  • Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)
  • Auragen light and Sound Therapy (in person sessions in Boulder only)

What is mental health coaching?


Mental health coaches help clients overcome non-clinical mental health concerns. 

Many common emotional states interfere with the quality of our lives.  Mental health coaches are able to dig deep into transformative inner work with clients.

The iNLP Center bases their Mental Health coaching program on the Inner Dynamics model.  Inner Dynamics, meaning: how you relate to the various parts of your personality. This is a way to explore and transform the deepest parts of ourselves without getting stuck or overwhelmed.  How our inner parts relate to each other is a major factor in how we think, feel, and behave. 


What is the difference between mental health coaching and counseling/psychotherapy?


Clinical counselors are trained to diagnose and treat patients who have mental illness or other significant emotional and relational concerns.


Mental health coaches cannot diagnose or treat clients' mental illness.  Instead coaches focus on helping individuals develop greater self- awareness and implement tools to better manage their lives in pursuit of greater mental health.  Coaches can help clients manage emotions, change the way they approach problems, improve relationship skills and reduce stress and anxiety.


How to decide if you should see a therapist or a coach?  Some questions to ask yourself.....

Do you have a mental health condition that significantly affects your life such as significant anxiety or depression?  Schizophrenia? Bipolar? etc. --- If so a therapist would be better trained and suited.


Are you using or would like to use medication to help manage your mental health?----a therapist or other mental health care provider that prescribes medication would be a best fit.


Do you want to supplement your existing mental health treatment?---it would be important to have a transparent conversation with both therapist and coach to ensure the care is appropriate for your concerns.


Are you seeking a proactive approach to your mental health and you aren't experiencing a pressing mental health concern?----coaching may be a good direction to go.

Are you looking at becoming a better leader, employee or member of your family?---coaching focuses on self development and may be a good fit.

What is health coaching?


A health coach acts as a guide and partner to help implement client-driven lifestyle changes to improve their health and well-being.  We provide client support in creating custom plans that empower and highlight their strengths, building resources that will allow for sustainable changes.


Good health is multi-dimensional.  We often think of physical health as good nutrition and physical activity.  This is a very important part of our health, but it is just one piece of the puzzle.  Good health also includes a balance of emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual, and financial health as well as a sense of safety within our environment.  


You may be ready for a health coach if you are ready to make a change to improve your health and wellness but you need help creating your plan.  If you are willing to take charge of your health and want guidance, accountability and support then Health Coaching may be right for you.  


 It is my belief that every client is an expert in their own lives and has the capacity for lasting change!
